WEST HILLS, CALIF. (March 6, 2019) — West Hills Hospital & Medical Center, a full-service acute care facility, has welcomed six new community leaders to its board of trustees. The board maintains oversight to ensure that the hospital meets the needs of the community and fulfills its mission.
The six new board members are:
Marc Lavin, M.D.
Dr. Lavin was West Hills Hospital's former chief of staff. He had been with the hospital since 1998 in various roles, including serving on the Medical Executive Committee, the Bylaws Committee and the Credential Committee, as well as chairing the medicine department and participating in the hospital's multidisciplinary peer review.
Peter Grossman, M.D.
Dr. Grossman is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Grossman Burn Center's medical director. He dedicates his time to performing cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries for burn injuries as well as providing burn prevention education in the United States and around the world.
Michael Benjamin, M.D.
Dr. Benjamin has been performing oncology and hematology procedures at West Hills Hospital since 2006. Currently, Benjamin chairs the hospital's CME/Education Program Committee and its Bioethics Committee. He has also lectured as a clinical instructor at the UCLA School of Medicine since 2008.
Dan Stepenosky, Ed.D.
Dr. Stepenosky who earned his doctorate in information and education from UCLA, has served as the Las Virgenes Unified School District's superintendent since 2006. Stepenosky is also a navy veteran who received his Bachelor of Science in physics from Villanova University on a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship.
Ms. Arnold is a talent acquisition manager for Farmers Insurance Group Inc. Prior to this position, she was the talent acquisition manager at Rexford Industrial Realty Inc. for a year and a senior recruiter for Direct Hire Associates LLC for eight years. Arnold received a journalism degree from California State University, Northridge and is currently working on completing her Bachelor of Science in business leadership from Ashford University.
Mr. Escobedo serves as a captain and paramedic with the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD). Captain Escobedo holds an associate's degree in emergency medical services and a bachelor's degree in business administration from California State University, Los Angeles. Additionally, he has received various certifications for paramedicine and fire service, including certification as a fire officer from the Office of the California State Fire Marshal.
