Want to thank your nurse for extraordinary care? As part of our nursing recognition program we encourage you to share your story and nominate a nurse for our quarterly DAISY Award.
In partnership with the DAISY Foundation, we recognize and honor our nurses for their hard work and devotion to our patients. The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died of complications of the auto-immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). DAISY is an acronym for diseases attacking the immune system. During Patrick’s 8 week hospitalization, his family was grateful for the care and compassion that his nurses provided not only to Patrick but to everyone in his family. One of the goals they set in creating a Foundation in Patrick’s memory was to recognize extraordinary nurses everywhere.
Nurses touch the lives of many patients and visitors by the super-human work they do every day. In partnering with the DAISY foundation we celebrate the achievements of our wonderful nurses. Each DAISY Award Honoree will be recognized at our quarterly employee recognition award ceremony and will receive: a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer’s Touch. Additionally, everyone in the unit will celebrate with Cinnabon® cinnamon rolls – Patrick’s favorite snack that he loved to share with his care team.
