Women's Resource Center
As women experience each stage of life and health challenge, West Hills Hospital and Medical Center provides guidance and help from Motherhood to Menopause. We have developed programs designed to meet women's specific health care needs, and specifically those of Mother and Child. Our outstanding program for new mothers includes:
- Prenatal (Before Birth) Support -- Taking care of your baby's health as early as possible is the best gift a mother can give a new child. Our Women's Resource Center offers prenatal support from the 12th week of pregnancy. Mothers-to-be learn about nutrition, exercise and how to take the best care of themselves and baby.
- Maternity Services -- Our Labor and Delivery Program nurses and staff are especially sensitive to the concerns and needs of expectant mothers, and understand that the birth of a baby can be one of the most special moments in life. For high risk mothers we offer perinatal consultation. From San Fernando to Simi Valleys, we provide care with highly trained expertise and compassion
- After the Birth -- Postpartum Services After baby’s birth, West Hills Hospital offers education on your newborn, breastfeeding techniques from certified lactation consultants, and educational materials that can assist mother and family during the first days and weeks following baby’s delivery at West Hills.
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
-- NICU is a very special hospital nursery that provides care and treatment to newborn babies who need specialized help. These are infants who cannot go home after birth, or develop problems in the first few days of life. West Hills provides a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staffed with neonatologists -- doctors who treat and diagnose newborns, as well as specially trained nurses, respiratory therapists, occupational and physical therapists, nutritionists and pharmacists just for baby’s special needs.
