Maternal and Child Health
West Hills Hospital provides specialized Maternal and Child Health help for pregnant women, their babies and families. We assist you in the birthing process with a highly trained medical staff in a safe, nurturing environment of spacious birthing suites, observation rooms, post-partum facilities, the latest medical technology, and a world-class Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for newborn babies who may need specialized help after birth. Since 1961, our goal is to provide you with a safe, joyful birthing experience so that when you take baby home, we will have provided the care, training and information that help in your role as a new and confident parent.
Childbirth and Baby Care Classes
We offer childbirth and baby care training:
- Free tours of the Maternity Department held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
- American Heart Association's CPR for infants (0-12 months) & children (1-8 years) (fee applies)
- Free tours for siblings
- Free breastfeeding classes
- Baby Care Basics (3 weeks): Includes care of the newborn, current pediatric recommendations, safety in the home, car seat safety & infant CPR (fee applies)
- Six-week Childbirth Course (fee applies)
